-I was having trouble trying to figure out which direction I wanted to go in. Whether or not I wanted to continue to work on the 3D surfaces or not. After the critique last week I have decided to continue in the 3D direction. I am almost finished putting together a new surface to paint on. It will be in a triangular shape rather than square. I have gotten a lot of feedback saying that these pieces would look interesting in other shapes so I thought that might help spark more interest in them.
-There is an artist name Shintaro Ohata who does some really nice 3D paintings, where he has the figures done sculpturally in front of painted backgrounds. They are very interesting and look great. I might want to work on something similar to that.

I want to stray away from the idea of a rectangular canvas though. I want to create something that stands alone without the restriction of a frame. I like the way Ohtata's pieces break out of the rectangle and I want to try and push that idea.
This is a 3D canvas that I started on. I have not yet decided what to paint on it.
